Ayodhya and Hindus are much related to each other as per belief Ayodhya a town in Faizabad district of Uttar Pradesh is the birthplace of Lord Rama.The land in Ayodhya is under dispute for a very long time and is in Supreme Court.The final verdict of Supreme Court will be on 8th February 2018.
Talking about the Ayodhya dispute it’s been an era of starting and till now it is in full rage.Taking a note of the dispute it started since the Independence of country and one of the instances was noticed in the year 1949 when some Hindus placed the idols of Lord Rama and Sita inside the mosque(which was present at that time).At that time people also believed that the idols were placed there miraculously.At that time because of fear of communal riot the land was locked and was declared under dispute.
Babri Masjid v/s Ram Mandir
In 1961, the local Sunni Waqf Board filed a case claiming the entire land and asking for the removal of the idols from the structure.The beginning of the 1980s which brought a major change in the movement as many leaders from Vishwa Hindu Parishad which is a part of Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh launched a movement to retrieve the site for the Hindus and make there a temple dedicated to Lord Rama. The Bhartiya Janta Party which has just came out from Jana Sangh was the main face of the movement.
In 1986, the District Judge of Faizabad Court passed an order to open the gates of the Masjid for Hindus to offer prayers, responding to a lawsuit filed by a local Hindu lawyer.This verdict was opposed by the Muslims ‘All India Babri Masjid Action Committee’ as they believed that this was not fair to them.
In 1989 just before the general elections, VHP conducted a Shilanyas program for laying the foundation of Ram Temple.
