Technical Education Curriculum To Include Humanities And Social Sciences: AICTE

The Chairman of AICTE has recently quoted that technical education should be upgraded in the country and many new programmes such as inclusion of Humanities and Social Sciences must be done.
Anil D Sahasrabudhe, addressing a national seminar on technical education in KIIT, Bhubaneshwar stated that at this time students have developed a self learning ability and create a habit of lifelong learning.
Further, Adding to this he also said that “This must be planted in the minds of students and teachers will play an important role in this connection.Teachers should give importance on self learning”.
Speaking on the very event Dr. Ajay Kumar Mohanty, Director,Deloitte Consulting,USA said that our education system must be very comparative to the rest of the world.So we can make right choice and lead the world.For this student must study and work hard to compete with the best.
Adding to his point, he also said that sometimes great minds are influenced by great teachers. Teaching is always communicating.Teachers play an important role in student’s life so there must be healthy teaching-learning process. Technical education is very important for productive growth so there is a need of more and more investment in the field of technical education.
Adding to all these, B.N Nanda,Sr. Adviser to the Ministry of Labour Welfare and Employment,Govt. Of India,discussed on the professional education in relation to the civil services.He said from 2010 more and more professionals from technical education field are getting success in All India Civil Services Examination.Today the number has reached as much as 60%.
He also said that, technical and professional education students entering in the civil services can use their technical expertise in their workplace.But most of the students choose Humanities and Social Studies in their Civil Services exam.So there should be a reform in civil services examinations, so that, these students can choose their respective technical and professional subjects.
Talking about the seminar named “Technical Education In Present Scenario” there were many other professionals related to the field of education who had different opinions on the topic. They all had a clear view on the various reforms to be taken in the field of technical education.
